Corinne Connie Shannon Choice, passed away with family by her side on January, 23, 2018. She was born, November 29, 1921 in Sardis, Alabama to the late Lee Ernest and Georgia (Felts) Shannon. She was proceeded in death by her husband Calvin A. Choice. She was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and had worked at Kroger Company and the Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority. Ardent advocate for civil and human rights, Corinne supported the National Urban League and National Association for the Advancement of Color People, in addition to being a patron of the Taft Museum of Arts Duncanson Society. She was a faithful member of Church of the Resurrection. Corinne enjoyed sewing, gardening, social clubs and swimming. She is survived by her loving daughter, Elaine Foster (Cincinnati, OH); and her grandchildren, Corinne Echols (Denver, CO) and Colonel Elvert and Eugenia Gardner (Stuttgart, Germany). She was loved deeply by numerous extended family members and friends. Mass will be at the Church of the Resurrection, 1619 California Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45237, Friday, January 26. Visitation will begin at 10:30 am, followed by the Mass at 11:00 am. Corinne will be interned at Vine Street Hill Memorial Park.
